Canny is a CAN interface developed by Lazer Lamps that enables the installation of auxiliary lights for selected vehicles with CAN communication systems where it is not otherwise possible to access 12V lighting signals at the rear of the vehicle headlight, for example. The system, consisting of a Canny dongle, plus wiring harness and supported by a dedicated app (CANNY.LZR), benefits from the fact that it can be mounted in the engine compartment of your vehicle for quicker and easier installation or in the vehicle itself. Bluetooth synchronization and over-the-air updates increase the system's ease of use and installation speed.

The dongle consists of an automotive standard Molex connector that ensures a fully waterproof solution according to IP68. Integrated design elements and included cable ties facilitate the installation of the unit. Placement of the unit in the engine compartment is preferable due to the ease of installation, but depends on the connection location of the CAN Hi/CAN Lo cables on each vehicle.

Connection to the vehicle's CAN lines is via the supplied wiring harness, with the blue (CAN Hi) and yellow (CAN Lo) wires supplied with automotive grade heat-shrinkable crimp connectors to create watertight connections. The supplied wiring harness also includes a fused positive battery and a ground wire. In addition, there are 4 output lines, each programmable to respond to different inputs, be it: High Beam, Position Light, Ignition, Reverse, etc., and are compatible with any of our vehicle kits (if the required output is >1Amp).

Activation, synchronization and ongoing updates of your Canny Dongle are achieved via the app. After gaining full access via your device's unique serial number and PIN, users can access installation instructions for their vehicle before pairing the device and assigning and testing the various lighting functions. Updates, for example following vehicle modifications, can also be completed via Bluetooth.
